The assistant chat is designed to help you with questions, analysis, and drafting — but it can't directly edit your specification document. This is by design, as specification editing requires a structured workflow to maintain formatting, clause numbering, and cross-references.
How to edit your specification. Go to your project, click the Specification tab, and select Edit Specification. This opens the full editing environment where you can make changes with proper version tracking.
Will the assistant chat support specification editing in the future? We're actively working on it. The goal is to let the assistant make targeted edits to your specification directly from the chat — but we want to get it right before releasing it.
In short:
To edit a specification → Go to your project → Specification tab → Edit Specification
The assistant chat cannot edit specifications at this time
